Is Jung a spy?

Jung is scared and tells Geon-u she plans to run away. Jung and Geon-u are unsure why Ho-seung was killed, and the killer is on the loose. Geon-u orders Jung to stay put because Ja Yoo will come to know everything if she flees now. It turns out Jung revealed Chae Woon and Ho-seung’s whereabouts to Geon-u, and hence, Park Sangmin was at the location. Park Sangmin is a step ahead as he blows up his car and cleans his place of fingerprints. Park Sangmin also disguises himself as a woman so the police can’t find him.

Geon-u and Seon-u argue over who should clean up their mess. Seon-u gives in to his father’s demands and yells at the police for being incompetent. The police reveal Chae Woon’s immense power to Seon-u. Seon-u feels ecstatic hearing the news as he feels Ja Yoo is fulfilling all his childhood dreams. Meanwhile, a reluctant Jung visits Ho-seung’s family and informs them about Ho-seung’s death. Chae Woon is put behind bars, and he is rethinking all the possibilities of who could be the spy.

Ja Yoo visits Chae Woon in prison

Ja Yoo meets Chae Woon, but she regrets sending her bodyguards on the mission. Subsequently, Ja Yoo relays the bad news of Ho-seung’s death. Despite the lack of details, Ja Yoo and Chae Woon suspect that cultured tissue is responsible. Ja Yoo cannot promise an early release because Chae Woon assaulted a police officer. The Chief of police meets with Ja Yoo and apologizes for the whole situation. Ja Yoo puts on a special glass and watches the police car’s dash cam footage, and the culprit is briefly seen. Ja Yoo’s special glasses can send the live footage to On San. On San works his magic and gathers photographs of Park Sangmin and his car. As Ja Yoo is leaving, On San relays a message about a car that was on fire that matches Park Sangmin’s car.

Ja Yoo asks the police to arrive at the location immediately. Ja Yoo’s bodyguards send Park Sangmin’s photos to the police. On San calls Mr. Seo and reveals to him that a small slit in the body suit gave Park Sangmin an edge to stab Ho-Seung. Mr. Seo feels guilty and starts to blame himself for everything. On San consoles him, but Mr. Seo cries and mourns Ho-seung.

Chae Woon confronts Seon-u

Chae Woon is released from prison, and his charges for the assault are lifted. A relieved Chae Woon assumes he is released because of Ja Yoo, but Seon-u’s men are waiting for him as he walks out. Chae Woon waits for Seon-u, who gets straight to the point and asks about his supernatural strength. Meanwhile, Ja Yoo tracks Chae Woon and starts her journey to Seon-u’s house.

Chae Woon plays as if he is ignorant about Blood Free’s cultured organs as long as he can, making Seon-u impatient. Chae Woon has questions about Kir’s family living abroad lavishly, as it is odd for a terrorist family to get a Visa easily. Moreover, Chae Woon asks if Seon-u’s intention was always to eliminate Mingyu as Mingyu was always against synthetic biology. Seon-u admits to having known about Kir’s family, but he strikes a nerve when Chae Woon mentions Mingyu. In frustration, Seon-u starts attacking Chae Woon, who defends himself without a problem. However, Seon-u gets hurt and starts bleeding profusely. Chae Woon quickly realizes Seon-u suffers from hemophilia and desires synthetic biology technology.

Seon-u reveals his true intentions

Ja Yoo rushes to Seon-u’s room and checks on Chae Woon. Chae Woon quickly updates Ja Yoo that Seon-u knows far too much and has no interest in hiding it. Seon-u is jealous watching Ja Yoo care about Chae Woon, considering she has not shown sympathy to any other human being. Ja Yoo ignores him, and Seon-u concludes that Chae Woo is her first test subject. Seon-u wants to hear the truth from Ja Yoo and asks about the cultured organs. Ja Yoo is unafraid to reveal the truth and expresses that they have succeeded.

Now, Seon-u is desperate to see the creation and promises not to reveal it to anyone. Instead of agreeing, Ja Yoo asks him to revise the bioethics law so she can share it with the public and help them. Seon-u is furious as he feels that only the rich and, more importantly, he is entitled to use such unique technology. Ja Yoo begs to differ and says if she lets him use the technology himself, it will be a mutation, not an evolution. Seon-u takes a different approach and asks to be his second test subject. Using the usual tactics, Seon-u threatens to confiscate and take away all of Blood Free’s technology, and yet he says he cares about Ja Yoo. Ja Yoo laughs it off and says Seon-u is showing her his true colors and thanks him for pretending to be useful all this while.

Blood Free team questions Jung

Ja Yoo confirms, saying the spy is Jung, thanks to Chae Woon’s clue at the police station. Ja Yoo and On San set a trap, and Jung takes the bait. On San informs her to visit a location where the killer is. Ignorant Jung immediately texts someone on her phone about the message. Ms. Hong and the others catch her red-handed. The entire team now questions Jung, who does not admit anything. The team has already concluded that she is spying on Blood Free on Geon-u’s orders, but they want to hear it from Jung.

They ask her if she is not doing it for the money, and then she could be dating Geon-u or Seon-u. Jung feels insulted and tells them that she was a lawyer before and that what they are doing is against the law. Chae Woon takes matters into his own hands and uses a form of torture to get information out of Jung, but Ja Yoo stops him. In this process, the Blood Free team does not realize that their system is being hacked.

Blood Free Episode 8 Recap:

The episode begins with a revelation of the images of Blood Free Mingyu was seeing in a previous episode. Jung sneakily captured the pictures and sent them to Mingyu. Now, the truth is out. In an attempt to get Jung to confess, Chae Woon reveals that he was sent to Blood Free by Seon-u. It also turns out Jung has been spying on Blood Free from the beginning. Ja Yoo is left with no choice but to hear the truth from Chae Woon.

On the other hand, Chae Woon has no interest in hiding the truth from Ja Yoo and reveals the truth. Ja Yoo is deeply hurt as Chae Woon suspected her of the terrorist attack at AZORAN. Ja Yoo fires Chae Woon, but he promises to leave after they find Ho-seung’s killer. On San and Ja Yoo are prepared to torture Chae Woon if Chae Woon is the spy.

Jung is tortured

Mr. Seo has a unique way of torturing Jung so she can reveal the truth. To get information directly from Jung’s memory and brain waves, Mr. Seo shows Jung some images; anything she associates with the image will be manifested as a real-life picture. A woman’s face continues to appear, and On San feels the woman looks familiar. Ja Yoo threatened Jung to reveal the truth, as she filed a missing person report with the police and informed them that she was a spy. The story goes that the spy has killed one of Ja Yoo’s bodyguards and fled. Ja Yoo is sure DORSAN will find Jung, who will bring down the Seon-u family along with her. Meanwhile, Seon-u has convinced the other government leaders to investigate Blood Free immediately.

Ja Yoo visits Chae Woon’s house to clear her belongings and remembers a conversation between Ho-seung, Chae Woon, and herself. Chae Woon has a niece who is studying kindergarten abroad, and he wants to sell his house to pay for her tuition. Chae Woon’s niece is lactose intolerant and used to visit the ER because of Korea’s incompetent sellers who did not take her allergy seriously. However, Chae Woon’s niece stopped visiting the ER often because allergies are taken seriously there, although his niece had to face bullying at school because of her condition.

At present, On San and Chae Woon run into each other, and Chae Woon provides crucial information to On San. After some investigation, Chae Woon realized that Shin-gu was manipulated and brainwashed for a short period, and On San made a mental note and visited the office to feed Jung. As a master manipulator, Jung asks On San to send someone else to feed her as she feels embarrassed in front of him because she has always had feelings for him, and he is too busy to notice. Despite the manipulation, On San asks Jung where she met her friend. Jung reveals that she met her not too long ago at the swimming pool. On San starts to realize that maybe Jung was brainwashed as well. However, Jung is absolutely fine as she breaks the plastic spoon, hoping to be free.

What does Ja Yoo do to save Blood Free?

Ja Yoo realizes this is her last chance to save Blood Free and provide medical benefits for the public before Seon-u steps in. In a bold move, Ja Yoo, without consulting her team, decides to make a public announcement. Ja Yoo confesses to the public about Shin-gu’s wife’s death. In addition, Ja Yoo reveals the cultured organs Blood Free has achieved that can solve incurable diseases. She fills the public with hope and asks for volunteers to be test subjects by providing it for free. Ja Yoo also promises to handle all the legalities of the procedure. In a shocking twist, Ja Yoo tells the public that she will have every organ in her body replaced by a cultured organ, and it will be broadcast publicly.

Seon-u watches the public announcement and is furious. At the same time as the announcement, Seon-u has decided to hold a press conference. Seon-u starts by saying he is proud of Blood Free, but as a Prime Minister, he is concerned about a private company’s monopoly and large-scale technological advancement. Seon-u also asks the public not to be swayed by hopeful messages Ja Yoo shares and follows the procedures. He promises to protect the public and go through with the investigation. Meanwhile, On San remembers the woman Jung remembers to be the wife of the man who jumped from the overpass on Ja Yoo’s car.

Chae Woon makes a move

In a desperate attempt to stop Ja Yoo from going through the procedure, Chae Woon asks Ja Yoo to use him as a living example of the procedure’s success. Ja Yoo does not listen to him and is adamant about doing it herself. Chae Woon tells her he has a mission and will try to do what he can. Chae Woon visits Mingyu and asks him to let Chae Woon meet his daughter, and it is essential to get to the bottom of the terrorist attacks in AZORAN. Mingyu is furious because of the implications, but Chae Woon meets Mingyu’s daughter.

The stakes are high now as Ja Yoo, Chae Woon, and Seon-u have all made their first move to get what they want. In the next couple of episodes, there will be a lot of anticipation as many questions need to be answered. Ja Yoo has taken a bold step to have cultured organ implants herself, but it shouldn’t stop her from using Chae Woon’s example. At this point, it seems Seon-u is being hasty because of his desperate need to own the technology at Blood Free, and the chances are high that it will backfire. Jung is probably going to attempt suicide, and if that happens, the Blood Free team is in trouble yet again. If Chae Woon gets information from Mingyu’s daughter, he must find evidence and put Geon-u behind bars.
